Remember; Item's that have been customised to your requirements (altered especially for you) are not covered by the standard consumer laws, if you change your mind after the alterations have been made or the size you have ordered doesn't fit or they are not suitable in any way, we cannot accept a return or issue a refund. Please take care and check the waist and leg length of trousers they already have (that fit well), before ordering.
More Than One Alteration? If for example, you want the leg taken up by 2 inches and the button replaced with Velcro, choose one option and add it to your basket, then choose the other alteration and add that to the basket.
Consider your alterations carefully. Do you need the zip / button replaced? Remember, these trousers have an elastic waist so they can be pulled down and up without undoing the button and zip. This is great when the wearer is at home or in a care home environment. However, if the person gets out and about, they do not want the indignity or vulnerability of standing in a public toilet with their trousers round their ankles. If this is the case then the Velcro option is more suitable. If the wearer has a large belly, this can put extreme pressure on the fastening. If you choose to have the button replaced with Velcro, this pressure can pull the Velcro apart. Some men wear their trousers over their belly and others under, depending on body shape and personal preference.
Leg Length Alterations
Purchase a pair of trousers with your desired waist size and nearest your desired leg length then choose how many inches you want the seamstress to take them up. We base the measurement taken from the crutch to the trouser leg hem. If you are not sure how long you need, then lay a pair of trousers that fit you well and measure from the crutch to the hem to get the correct measurement.
How Long Do The Alterations Take?
We do not do the alterations our self. We use a local seamstress for all our orders. Usually, the seamstress can get alterations done within 24 hours of ordering. Occasionally, it can be a little longer if we have to order trousers in especially for you. If there is likely to be a delay we will contact you.
