Beefsteak Tomato Seeds Cuor Di Bue by Mr Fothergill's
Cuor di Bue is a 'beefsteak' type tomato, also known as Italian 'oxheart,' which has pink flesh.
Large, meaty, heart shaped fruits weigh up to 200g each and have thick fleshy walls,
ideal for sauces, pastas and curries as well as salads and sandwiches.
Suitable for growing in a greenhouse or outside in a sheltered location. Indeterminate.
For greenhouse crops, sow indoors January-April. A warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds.
Sow thinly, 0.5cm (¼") deep, in a pot of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20°C (60-68°F) is ideal.
Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. Transplant to individual pots when 10-15cm (4-6") tall.
Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Plant out April to May to large pots, growing bags or greenhouse border.
Harvest: June-October. For outdoor crops, delay indoor sowing until March or April.
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out into warm,
well-drained soil, 45cm (18") apart, when frosts are over. Harvest from August onwards.
